Palmetto Downtown Main Street will launch its inaugural Chalk Art Festival this weekend, April 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The two day event at Sutton Park will transform Downtown Palmetto into a lively, walkable destination showcasing art, local flavor, and family friendly fun.

The festival will feature 12-15 professional chalk artists from across Florida, each creating large scale, colorful street murals. As visitors explore Sutton Park and the adjacent streets, they’ll experience a dynamic open air gallery that highlights Palmetto’s growing identity as a hub for arts and culture.

While the focus remains on the artists and their creations, families can also enjoy the natural beauty of Sutton Park, local vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, and a gyro sphere attraction that adds an extra spark of excitement for all ages.

“This inaugural festival is an opportunity to celerate creativity while bringing our community together in a meaningful way,” said Karon Dixon, Executive Director of Palmetto Downtown Main Street. “We’re thrilled to welcome talented artists from across the Bay Area and to offer a free, family friendly event that showcases the spirit of Downtown Palmetto.”

With streets closed for easy pedestrian access, the Chalk Art Festival invites residents and visitors to stroll, enjoy, and take in the colorful transformation of one of Palmetto’s most beloved public spaces.
