Palmetto, Fla. -The often serene open spaces of the Manatee County Fairgrounds have begun to transform into a bustling wonderland of lights, sounds, and anticipation. With just over a week until the gates swing open on January 15th, crews are hard at work assembling towering attractions, colorful tents and preparing livestock arenas for the 2026 Manatee County Fair – an 11-day extravaganza running through January 25th that celebrates the heart of Florida’s agricultural heritage and community spirit.

“As the host city for the Manatee County Fair, I would like to invite everyone out to enjoy the 2026 Fair,” said Mayor Dan West of Palmetto. “The Fair is celebrating 250 years of America with wonderful entertainment, rides and youth livestock events and tasty fair foods,” West added. “The Manatee County Fair is a great homecoming event situated right here in downtown Palmetto since 1949.”

This year’s fair does indeed promise a packed lineup of attractions designed for all ages. Thrill-seekers can look forward to the midway’s adrenaline-pumping rides of all kinds of variety. Animal lovers will delight in the daily livestock shows, including 4-H and FFA competitions featuring rabbits, steers and more, alongside live milking demonstrations that highlight Manatee County’s farming roots.

Entertainment takes center stage with a diverse schedule of performances. Opening day on January 15 kicks off with Building Stronger Families Day, offering free gate admissions and a food drive to support The Food Bank of Manatee. Acts like the Cowboy Circus, The Barnyard Cackle Review, Universal Championship Wrestling, Puppy Pals Live, Magic Man TJ Hill and the Jurassic Kingdom Dinosaur Show plan to leave audiences of any age with a smile on their face.

January 15 also features a Veterans Tribute at 6:30pm on the main stage followed by a performance by the veteran-led 301 Travelers Band.

Throughout the week visitors can experience not only fun rides and quality entertainment but also enjoy arts and crafts exhibits showcasing handmade quilts, photography, and baked goods from community members.

Of course, then there’s the famous fair food. Food vendors will be serving up classic fares such as corn dogs, steak tips, funnel cakes, and fresh-squeezed lemonade – and that barely scratches the surface.

Admission remains affordable to ensure everyone can join the fun: $9 for ages 13 and up, $6 for children 6-12 and free for those 5 and under. Advance tickets are available online or at the game. The fair operates rain or shine, emphasizing its role as a resilient community gathering.

Since its inception, the Manatee County Fair has been more than just an event – it’s a tradition that strengthens bonds and supports local agriculture. As preparations ramp up, the excitement is palpable, drawing residents from across Florida and beyond to this beloved annual celebration.
