On Monday, February 23rd, 2026, Palmetto High FFA and Lincoln Middle FFA were recognized by the City of Palmetto at one of their Commission meetings, where both chapters were presented with the FFA Week Proclamation by Scott Whitaker on behalf of Dan West, the mayor of Palmetto.

At this meeting, it was declared that February 23rd to February 28th is the official National FFA Week. It was a true honor for both chapters to get recognized for their hard work that they have put into their program. Most of the time, FFA and agriculture get overlooked because people don’t understand the importance of the practice and that without it, no one would have food on their plate or clothing on their body. Both chapters are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend the meeting as well as getting appreciated for the work that each FFA member and advisor has put into their chapter to make it as successful and productive as possible.

Lincoln and Palmetto’s chapters work together to best prepare middle schoolers for FFA in high school, which is why it was such an honor to accept this proclamation with Lincoln. The most important idea to take away from this whole night is to continue to push yourself and your chapter, because with that you can do some incredible things! Happy National FFA Week!
