Downtown Palmetto has always been more than streets and storefronts. It is where neighbors gather, local businesses grow, and community pride takes shape. As Executive Director of Palmetto Downtown Main Street, I have the honor of helping steward the heart of our city.
Palmetto Downtown Main Street is now in its third year, and in a short time we have made significant progress. Under my leadership, we earned our nonprofit status, received full accreditation through Florida Main Street, and were recognized as Florida Main Street Organization of the Month. These milestones reflect the dedication, structure, and community support that continue to strengthen our organization.
Our work is guided by the nationally recognized Main Street approach, centered on four pillars: Economic Vitality, Design, Promotion, and Organization. These principles shape everything we do—from supporting local businesses and improving the appearance of downtown, to hosting events that bring people together and building partnerships that create long-term impact.
My background has always been rooted in service. I spent 15 years as a girls’ athletic director and served on the board of a nonprofit youth organization. I also volunteered for five years as a Guardian ad Litem, advocating for children in the court system. Those experiences taught me the importance of leadership, accountability, and compassion—values I carry into my role today.
Downtown revitalization does not happen overnight. It requires trust, collaboration, and a shared vision. Palmetto Downtown Main Street has worked to build strong partnerships with local businesses, volunteers, civic organizations, and the City of Palmetto to create opportunities that energize our downtown and support economic growth.
I believe a strong downtown strengthens the entire community. This work is not about change for the sake of change—it is about honoring Palmetto’s history while building a future where our downtown remains vibrant, welcoming, and full of opportunity.
I invite the community to stay involved— attend events, shop local, volunteer, and share your ideas. Every effort matters. Together, block by block, we are building something lasting in Downtown Palmetto.
